Homemade Granola
Do you love granola too?
Did you know that store-bought granola:
Is high in refined sugar.
Contains unhealthy fats and oils.
Is packed with unnecessary ingredients.
Is actually less tasty than homemade granola.
So I prefer to make my own:) Wanna try?
Set the oven to 150°C.
In a bowl mix dry ingredients:
2-3 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup chopped cashews
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup coconut flakes
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp sea salt
* You can start with 2 cups of rolled outs and if you'd like to change the proportion oats to nuts you can add more. I also like to wait and see if the wet ingredients cover the mix before adding more oats. The mixture should be quite moist when combined.
In a separate bowl mix:
3 tbsp melted coconut oil
4 tbsp maple syrup (100% pure, the ones in a glass jar)
3 tbsp almond butter (made of 100% almonds)
Mix all ingredients together until combined.
Place on a baking sheet and press the mixture together to keep it in one piece.
Bake for 15min, rotate, and bake for another 15min until golden.
Once cooled down you can break the granola into chunks and store in an air tight container.
Serving options:
Add fruits of your choice (I like adding a banana).
Milk / yogurt / nut milk (I use Vitariz almond rice drink).
